History
The MITSS Hope Award was established in 2008 to recognize people – patients, families, healthcare providers, hospitals (or teams or departments therein), academic institutions, community health centers, grass roots organizations, EAP Programs, etc. – who exemplify the mission of MITSS: Supporting Healing and Restoring Hope to patients, families, and clinicians impacted by adverse medical events. The HOPE Award which stands for "Honoring Outstanding People Everywhere who have furthered the MITSS Mission of Supporting Healing and Restoring Hope" was developed and is overseen by the MITSS Community Outreach Committee.
This Committee's mission is to implement programs to increase the presence of MITSS in the greater community. It is the goal of the Community Outreach Committee, through the HOPE Award, to recognize and showcase important work being done that is in alignment with the MITSS mission.
